Is there a huge difference between asics running shoes and Nike/adidas running shoes????

I am not an expert running, but is there really a huge difference between asics runners and Nike/Adidas runners.????

My question is because of the price, I got asics runners for 180 bucks, but I have seen Nike/Adidas runners for 70. Is worth it that much extra for the Brand???. I understand that Nike / Adidas are really decent brands.

***I am just a recreational runner.

Not really the quality of most major brands is good. I own lots of shoes and I like Asics, and Adidas. I do own some Nike also. It is my opinion and I run a lot and have for many years, when you find a shoe that fits well and feels good to use it regardless of who made it. I find shoes on sale and put them in the closet until I need them, so I don't pay retail or the regular price.
Reply:I'm partial to Asics because every time I've worn nike shoes for running I've always somehow injured my food. My track coach agreed with me and said that Nike has more inclined to looks than actual running ergonomics but in the end (when you break them in) they're all really the same. But I think that Asics have a bit more longevity (that's how it's been for me).
Reply:The real issue isnt the brand, but the shoes themselves %26amp; your feet. Everyone fits into their running shoes differently, everyone runs differently, everyone weighs different etc etc etc.

What you need to do is go out and buy a pair of running shoes from a running store with knowledgable staff, 180.00 seems pretty steep, mine cost about 110 - 125 and I run marathons %26amp; 10 K's in them. Not all running shoes are made the same, there made with different materials and designs to accomodate the millions of running styles. A good clerk at a running store will find the right one for you.
Reply:Running shoe brand names themselvesare all the same for the most part. However, there are many different types within each brand.

Each brand is usually broken down into Performance (faster training), Cushined/nuetral, Stability.

If you are just a recreational runner you should not spend $85-90 on shoes. Go to your local running store and talk to the experts there. A cushined nuetral trainer should be in the $50-60 range andserve you well.

Hope that helps,

Reply:ok when it comes to shoes, cars, clothes, ect you usually pay for the brand or make. You could find air max 360 for $160 or just go buy some adidas microbounce+ for 110 and are way more comfortable. I recommend the adidas microbounce LT+ shoes with all my heart. Just try them. They have lots of cushioning and fit true to size. and they only weigh a little over 10oz
