I just bought a new pair of running shoes and my arch hurts.?

The store recomended me stability shoes. I got the nike equatlon + 2.

Do you think the problem is because this is my first stability pair?

I just bought a new pair of running shoes and my arch hurts.?
Assuming the store fit you correctly (checked for pronation, etc), then it is probably just an issue of breaking in the shoes. Stability shoes are set apart from cushioning by the denser material through the arch, and it does take these shoes a little longer to break in. That said, if you hit about 50-100 miles in those shoes and you're still having pains, it may be the wrong shoe for you. Go back to the store or try a different store and ask for a second opinion. Nike also tends to run narrower, so that might be an issue as well.
Reply:I have never run with stability shoes, but I would definitely give it a bit of time. If you haven't run lately, it might just be soreness, but also, the stability pair might actually change the mechanics of your foot, leading to that soreness. You might want to consider going to a running workshop (local fitness stores often organize them) and see if your form is okay.
Reply:i think you and me may be in the same boat or i could bt way off. I went with nikes and had the same problem with my arches. my question to you is do you have flat feet? if you dont know what this is, is when your arch isnt very arched. you can tell this by stepping in some water bare foot and makeing a foot print. if you do have flat feet i would stay away from nike. although they are amazing shoes they run very thin and with high arch supports. if you had flat feet these high arch supports would be pushing where you have no arch. I would suggest a pair of new balence or minuzo's both great for flat wide feet with amazing cusion and support.

if you dont have flat feet cant help you..happy run
Reply:Did you go to a store that just sells running shoes? If they gave you all the needed running tests and decided the correct type of running show then it is possible that your feet are just going to need some time to adjust. Try walking in them for a week or so. If they still hurt then take them back and tell them that you are not happy with them. Perhaps another brand will work out better for you.
Reply:yes, it most likly is because it is your first stability pair. :]

my feet began to hurt when i got my first shoes like those.

just run in them and break them in, then your feet wont hurt so muchh.
