Can anyone recommend a good brand of running shoes?

I am trying to lose a little bit of weight. I am just going to be jogging around my neighborhood. No marathons for me! I will be running on the asphault streets or sidewalks. I would like something that gives good support and shock absorbtion. BUT I don't want to spend a ton of money!! Thanks in advance!

try some of the New balance...they are very light weight and long lasting with excellent support. you can get many of them at stores like kohls

Reply:New Balance make great running shoes and you can find them at Shoe show. They usually run great deals on the older shoes. Say around 35.00

Go to a good running store (do you have a running room where you live, www.runningroom.com) and they will fit you properly. The last thing you want to do is buy bad running shoes and ruin your feet, knees, or hips. Trust me that's not fun. You may have to spend some good money, think of it as an investment in your health you do not want to screw anything up.





A good running store will help you make sure that you have the best shoes for the way you run. They assess if you are a pronator, if you are fairly stable, etc...
