What is a good pair of running shoes for sidewalk running. My Nike's I have now pinch my toes!?

It seems like my toes get squished on top of each other..should I go up a size or go for a wider shoe?

Reply:I would try to go up a 1/2 size. I order my running shoes from roadrunnersports.com and they recomend that you go up a 1/2 size. I listened and it feels great for me. I like NEW BALANCE and NIKE SHOX
Reply:I love Avia's and New Balance - they're awesome for balance and they might have wide sizes! Sketchers are pretty comfortable too.
Reply:Your running shoes should always be a 1/2 size larger than what you really wear. Your feet start to swell after some time of running. So, they may feel a little big when you first put them on, but after swelling your toes should have plenty of room. I've heard that Nike's run a little narrow/small. So, you might want to try another brand that will provide you with more room in the toe box. In fact, some running shoes are made with different widths in the toe box. You usually have to special order them on-line though. I've heard New Balance shoes have wider toe boxes.
Reply:Wider, some people make the mistake of going longer, but longer seems to make it wider because the wide spot on the shoe moves up where you need the room, but then you end up with too much room on top. Ask a shoe person to look at your foot and if there good (like me) they can just look and tell if you have a wide foot. Most people do not know they are wide, until I tell them and I put them in a shoe that is about half a size smaller then what they are used to buying and a wide if not an extra wide
Reply:I have the same problem with my Nike's and I discovered that New Balance is the very best. You are able to chose different widths and different forms of cusion to comfort your feet.
