Breaking in running shoes?

i just got a pair of brooks adrenaline GTS Sevens and they are currently causing the top of my foot to hurt a bit, but they are the right size. is it because they aren't broken in yet? they are also very stiff. other than that, a very good shoe.

Breaking in running shoes?
They do not need to be broken in, they are ready to use.

If they are hurting the top of your foot you may need to lace them up differently.

If changing the laces, wearing better socks does not help then the shoes may not be right for your feet.

It is good to try on shoes and walk around the store before buying them.
Reply:Modern running shoes do not need breaking in. They may become more flexible as you run more miles, but as a general rule, if they are uncomfortable when you first try them on in the store, they will stay uncomfortable. As for the top of your foot, maybe try tying them more loosely?
Reply:sometimes hsoes just arent good for you

i had a pair that hurt my heel

and that never stopped huirting even after 6 months

does it hurt thre top of yer foot like at the arch? (like where u get sunburn)

i also had that too on a pair
Reply:It could definitely be that these shoes aren't in fact your size. I find that a lot of running shoes I've tried in the past have been fitted me tighter than normal shoes would have. I'm typically a size 10, but often i'll get a 10 1/2 just to compensate for the tightness. I find this to be especially true when it comes to New Balance's. You may just want to try a larger size when it comes to running shoes.

Also, like the folks above me said, a lot of modern running shoes are made ready to go, so breaking them in shouldn't be much of a process. I just typically wear them to the gym for a couple of days before I bust them out on a run and they're good to go.

And finally if you find that your shoes are quite stiff, you may want to invest your money in the future on Aasics, Nike's, or New Balance. They're all exceptional running shoes but I find Aasics to be THE MOST comfortable.

Good Luck on your running!
