Should i have seperate running shoes for practice and meets?

Well, it depends on if you're talking track or cross country here.

And either way, it depends on your skill, the money you're willing to spend, and the dedication you're putting into running.

CROSS COUNTRY: If you're just running for fun, or if you aren't taking it too seriously, than you'll be fine with just one pair of basic running shoes. The serious runners will have a pair of basic running shoes as well as a pair of cross country spikes to wear in meets. They might even have a separate pair of spikes to wear in practice. Once again, this depends on many factors. If you're young, you might not even be ALLOWED to wear spikes yet.

TRACK: For track, its harder to get away with just one pair of shoes. You really do need a pair of spikes if you're in middle school or high school. They aren't THAT expensive, and although some serious runners might have a pair for meets and a pair for practice, you could be perfectly fine with just one pair of spikes.

Hope it helps!

yes so that the shoes for your meets dont get worn down or so the grip doesnt disappear if you run outside......but you may want to wear them once for practice to break them in
Reply:YESS!!!!!

if you use spikes only use them when you are sprinting!!!!

spikes are not good for your feet. they just help for sprinting. soo dont train or spend time in your spikes. where running shoes until you sprint. then put on those spikes
Reply:You need to keep your shoes in a rotation so they are being used and fit your feet, but still have time between to dry properly. That may work out to one for practice and one for meets, but I'd focus more on alternating.
Reply:yes
Reply:yea thats wat i do
Reply:I would have more than one pair of the same kind of shoe, so you can have fresh ones for meets.
Reply:no

u hav to get used to running in one shoe

all of my school uses the same sneakers for their practice and at meets
Reply:I don't think that is necessary, when I ran cross country I used the same shoes for both practice and meets.
Reply:yes, the meet ones will be in better shape so you will do better and u can always have the practice ones as spares!
