First of all, cruelty to animals is never the answer!! I think you should just give Nike running shoes a go. You never know - you just might fall in love! :)

Sounds to me that you need to find some new friends. A friend does not sick an animal on you and as far as I am concerned any friend that does is an enemy.
Screw that friend and what ever shoes they are wearing and get a large stick the next time the dog gets sicked on you and smack your friend in the damn head for doing it.
