I live in the Atlanta, GA area and do dirt and root trail running. Not a lot of rocks; not very muggy or wet.
What are the best trail running shoes?
I live in Colorado, but I used to live in the South.
Unlike the mountains, you don't need a lot of foot protection, like a plastic sole plate or hard toe bumpers .... what you need is traction ...
to that end, New Balance makes a nice, breatheable shoe for trail running (708, 800) ... also Vasque makes a good trail shoe, depends on if you need extra width (NB has EE and 4E) ... You might steer clear of beefy trail shoes since you don't need all that protection. But if you are training for a Western race, you'll need the added toe protection of the Vasque .. NB has virtually no toe protection.
Reply:i dont really know but make sure the shoe has the arch on the side so you dont hurt your ankles or get shin splits.
