Yes.
There are many kinds of shoes because there are many kinds of feet! Shoes can be curved or straight when you look at the soles, and one way is better for you. Try some good stores and you'll see.
My favorites are New Balance 992 ($119) and Asics Gel Kayano ($134). But they're not the best shoe for everybody or there's be no other shoes!
A real running shoe store will watch you run and get you the right shoe for you.
What are the best running shoes. I don't care about price.?
thats a matter of personal opinion, ask your feet. i prefer nike alvord series...its a trail shoe but i find it comfortable on asphalt too.
Reply:I have Adidas Response and think they are great. My wife also has the same shoes. She says the same thing about hers. They are so light its almost like wearing no shoes at all. Very comfortable and I never had any problem wearing them when I ran. The first is a rating of the shoes and the second is a place to order them.
Reply:ASK THE SHOE OWNER.
Reply:Shoes are an individual purchase, I can tell you that I have liked Asics over the last 2 years. Last pair was a pair of 1061 New Balance which were nice. Right now I am trying out a pair of Nike's.
What you need to do is go to a reputable sports store that has a good selection of running shoes. And find a staff member who knows about how shoes should fit and if he knows how look at your gait.
Depending on your shape of your foot and how your foot strikes you could be into Motion control or stability shoes instead of cushioned shoes.
You should be looking to spend 100 - 150 US for shoes. Buy what fits right, this time my shoes were 129 Canadian, compared to the New balance last time 169$. So it all depends.

Reply:asics kayanos.
they are GREEAAT.
once you run with asics, you cant run with anything else.
hahaha
Reply:There is no single best shoe. It depends on the individual, that's partially why the world class runners wear different shoes (endorsement deals being the other part).
I recommend going to a running specialty store that stocks a variety of brands for advice. Ideally, the store should have a treadmill with a video camera that they can use to perform gait analysis. Based on how you run on the treadmill, a trained person can tell whether you need a neutral-cushioned shoe, a stability shoe, or motion control shoe. They should also measure your feet carefully. A good salesperson will measure the length and width of each foot, observe your stance in your socks, and ask you questions about how much you run and in what circumstances. Factors like your weight also play a part. Nike's a fine brand, but the fit of the shoes to your own feet is most important. Some makers are more wide or narrow, or have larger/smaller toe boxes or heel pockets. The salesperson should be able to guide you to 2-3 pairs to try on a treadmill and choose from. Spending $100-$120 on the shoes is reasonable and I would also recommend synthetic running socks (about $10/pair) for maximum comfort and to avoid blisters. Running is high-impact sport for your knees and feet, and ill-fitting or gimmicky shoes will result in misery.
Reply:ironically, the best running shoes may be: no shoes at all
I can't really do that, but I have been reading about training barefoot and how good it is for your stride, technique, etc.
